The Arab Trade Union Confederation (ATUC) and the Social, Economic and Environmental Council (CESE – Morocco) jointly organized a regional seminar entitled “Renewal of social dialogue: what role for economic and social councils and similar institutions?” on 14 of May 2018, in Rabat.

This event was organized under the high patronage of H.E. Mr. Mohamed Yatim, the Moroccan Minister of Employment and professional integration, and it was inaugurated by Mr. Nizar Baraka, President of the Economic, social and environmental council-Morocco, Mr. Ahmed Majdalani, Member of the Economic and social council of Palestine, and Mrs. Irène Mingasson, Head of Unit at Regional Programmes Neighbourhood South of the European Commission.

The seminar, inscribed within the third phase of SOLiD, together the project’s partners and main stakeholders (representatives of trade unions, employers’ organizations, social and economic councils).

The event was initiated by addressing the new changes addressing social dialogue followed by by a discussion on the new forms of work and was concluded by reflection on a road map for the Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions (ESC-SI) to accompany the renewal of social dialogue.
